Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does the laser work?
The laser uses mirrors to bounce a CO2 laser beam to a lens which focuses the beam to a tiny dot. The lens is mounted to a carriage that can move on both an x and y axis.
Can the laser etch or cut metal?
Our laser is a CO2 (35 watt), which will engrave and/or cut most all non-metallic materials. However, metals cannot be engraved or cut. They require a two step process: adding a special coating to the metal, and using the laser to burn it. This leaves a permanent black marking.
What sort of designs can be engraved?
The only limitation to designs that can be engraved is image quality. Any high-quality image will produce fantastic results when lasered.
Can I have an object I already own engraved?
In most cases, yes. However, a design fee may apply. Contact us for more info.
